BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Bernards Township Committee is scheduled to take a look at possible vape and smoke shop regulations and zoning at Tuesday's meeting, according to the online agenda for this week. The topic is listed for a public work session.
Earlier, the Township Committee had considered whether to implement local zoning regarding medicinal marijuana dispensaries. Ultimately a majority declined to take action at this time, partially because a deadline already had passed for applications for new dispensaries seeking to open throughout New Jersey.
The agenda for Tuesday's meeting also includes a proposed presentation by Mike Kerwin, CEO of the Somerset County Business Partnership.
The Township Committee also is due to approve the appointment of a new library director at the Bernards Township library. Geralyn Begraft, currently director at the Long Hill Township library, already was appointed last month by the Bernards Township Library Board of Trustees to succeed library director Ruth Lufkin, who due to retire at the end of this year.
Begraft is scheduled to begin working at the Bernards Township Library on Nov. 4, according to the library board's announcement of the appointment made on Sept. 18.
