BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Due to rain, township delayed the opening of the Coakley-Russo Memorial Golf Course off Valley Road and township grass fields, originally scheduled Saturday, April 1, weather and conditions permitting.
Tentative openings rescheduled for Monday, April 3
The update on the grass fields and the golf course were rescheduled for Monday, April 3.
The updates were scheduled to be posted on the Bernards Township website, with the update on the fields due to be posted by noon, according to the township Department of Parks & Recreation.

Managed and maintained by the Department of Parks & Recreation, the course is a Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design featuring nine holes in excess of 3,000 yards adjacent to the Veterans Administration facility off Valley Road.
The course is open to members and their guests. Information on joining the golf course and other details are on the Bernards Township website. The course is due to remain open this year through Nov. 26.
Although the township's Mountain Park Turf Fields (3 and 4) are already open for use with a reservation permit, the township's grass athletic fields have remained closed.
