WARREN, NJ – What started out as a beautiful Summer day turned tragic after a day long standoff between police and a gunman at a residence on Mount Horeb Road left three people confirmed dead on Sunday.

Some Warren residents wished to express their gratitude to first responders:

Warren Township Police Chief William Keane and Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano confirmed two individuals were shot to death at a Mount Horeb residence and the suspect died Sunday evening from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The identity of the shooter and the victims have not been released. 

This is an active and ongoing investigation. No additional information is available at this time.

Warren Township Police have advised that Mount Bethel Road is open.  Mount Horeb Road between Mount Bethel and King George Roads remains closed.
