William Annin Middle School’s Athletic Organization will be offering fall sports teams and athletic clinics for students in all grades.
The Bernards Township middle school’s Cross Country Team is one of the only teams open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. The team meets three times a week from 3:15 to 4:45 pm at Pleasant Valley Park for practices and home meets. Away competitions are at various middle schools and include two Invitationals. Busing is provided to all away meets. Cross Country is a great way to get in shape, learn a new sport and represent your school. No experience is necessary. The large team affords students an opportunity to meet new friends at WAMS and participate in different grades.
WAMS also offers a field hockey clinic for girls in grades 6th thru 8. This two day a week program is for the new or developing player. Other clinics being offered include basketball for 6th graders, and volleyball for all students.
Tryouts will also be held for 7th and 8th graders for girls and boys soccer teams, girl’s field hockey and girl’s volleyball teams.
Registration must be done on the WAMSAO website www.wamsao.com before Aug. 23. Every student that registers online must also submit an Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Form. Information and FAQS can be found on the website www.wamsao.com as well.
