William Annin Middle School Girls Volleyball Team Honored by Bernards BOE

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The 20 members of the William Annin Middle School girls volleyball team were saluted at the Board of Education’s meeting on Monday night, Nov. 13.

The team had a record of 5-3 heading into the Central Jersey Junior Schools Athletic Association tournament, but came from the third seed to win on Oct. 30. They avenged a loss to Westfield in the semifinals on Oct. 27, and defeated top-seeded and undefeated Clinton Township in a three-set victory, including a solid 25-15 score in the decisive third set, on Oct. 30.

Clinton Township had defeated WAMS twice in the regular season.

The team members are Julia Amicone, Berkley Burrow, Carly Cambria, Sophie Fleischer, Sofia Holmqvist, Kylee Horner, Leilani Johnson, Shelby Kaiser, Eliza Kim, Anna Kodvawala, Karen Li, Eliana Marcus, Taylor McLachlan, Sophia Metzner, Josephine Peacock, Abigail Schwed, Chelsea Tancredi, Carly Wollmuth, Emily Woo and Katrina Yang.

The Head Coach is Richard Pickrell. The team was assisted by Simon Moeller, a Ridge High student.
