BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The warm spell that had us shedding winter coats and thinking of spring is over for the moment - temperatures are predicted to drop well below freezing, into the lower 20s, on Saturday and Sunday nights.

The National Weather Service also is predicting a high of 42 for Sunday in Basking Ridge.

But don't go holding your breath for a White Christmas.

Looking ahead the weather service predicts a high in the low 50s on Monday, the high 50s on Tuesday, until Thursday, Christmas Eve Day, when the weather service (as of this weekend) was predicting that Thursday's temperatures during partly Sunday day could hit 67 degrees.

Friday was predicted to cool off a little, with a predicted daytime high of 56 - but hardly cold enough to bring snow, for those who might be wishing for a white winter coating this week.
