BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Ridge built a 28-point halftime lead on its way to a 45-27 victory over Linden on Friday night.

Kermit Hoffman scored a pair of touchdowns to stake Ridge (5-2) to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and Duncan Roberts threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter, when the Red Devils advanced their lead to 35-7 with the aid of a third TD by Hoffman, this one on a kickoff return.

Roberts completed 11 of 16 passes for 165 yards and three TDs without throwing an interception. For the season, Roberts has 14 TD passes and only six interceptions. Ben Rengulbai led Ridge with 99 rushing yards on 17 carries, Hoffman carried 17 times for 80 yards and Brandon Radice caught five passes for 85 yards and a TD.

The victory marked the fourth time in seven games this season that Ridge has eclipsed the 40-point mark.
