Monday Update: All Roads Are Open, Fewer Than 100 Customers On Outage List in Bernards Township

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The Monday morning update from Bernards Township was a brief one, filled with good news. Schools are open, the library will open today and JCP&L reports that only 86 customers remain without power as the week begins. 

The update from the Township follows:

As restoration continues today, customers who are without power are encouraged to call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report their outage or click the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com. This is the best way to ensure you are in the queue.

All roads in the township are now open or passable.

Following roads remain obstructed or otherwise compromised:
Manchester Dr & Tangelwood Ln – road passable
Flintlock – Tree blocking lane – no wires - passable 
Gerard Ave and Debra Ln - Tree blocking lane – no wires 
Gerard Ave and Lyons Pl - Tree blocking lane – no wires 
Dryden Rd – Wires down near #25 – road passable 
Whitenack Rd & Emily Rd – Tree and wires down – road passable 
Old Army Rd near Old Farm Rd – low hanging wire –road passable

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Piscataway man was identified as the tow truck operator killed when he was struck by another vehicle on I-287 in Bridgewater Wednesday afternoon, according to NJ State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele.

Nicholas Coble, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by a vehicle while clearing another car from the roadway at 1:44 p.m.
