The Crescent Concert Series, located in Plainfield, continues its 36th season with “Connections,” a Festival of Organists featuring four outstanding and celebrated performers playing music from Buxtehude and Bach to Vierne and Widor.  The concert date is Sunday, March 18, at 3:00 pm at the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield.

F. Allen Artz, III, will be familiar to many as Artistic Director and Organist at Crescent until his retirement in 2016.  He is currently organist and choir director at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sinking Spring, PA.  As a recitalist, Mr. Artz has performed in several Midwestern and northeastern states as well as in England.  While serving as Associate Director of Music and Organist at Newark’s Catholic Basilica, he had the honor of playing Vespers in the presence of Pope John Paul II and President Bill Clinton.  His program at Crescent will feature works by Buxtehude, Bach and Mendelssohn.

Kevin Davis is organist and Choir Master at Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit, New Jersey.    He has recorded on the Gothic Label as flutist with the Westminster Handbell Choir.  As an organ recitalist, Mr. Davis has performed all over the United States.  Davis, an active member of the American Guild of Organists, will perform Toccata, Fugue and Finale by Lawrence Altman, as well as works by Bach.
