BERNARDS TWP. NJ -- This week starts off more than a month of outdoor concerts, movies, live theater and other activies in Bernards Township municipal parks.
All events are free, and presented by the Bernards Township Parks & Recreation department. Donations are accepted for the outdoor performances to be presented by the Basking Ridge-based Trilogy Repertory Company.
Tuesday kicks off with concerts, with outdoor movie and Shakespeare later in the week
"Sounds of the Street - Oldies and DooWop from the '50s, '60s, and 70s," is scheduled to be presented at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at Pleasant Valley Park off Valley Road.
The audience is encouraged to bring their own blanket or lawn chairs for seating. A tentative rain date has been scheduled for August 13.
On July 10, Wednesdays at Dunham Park kicks off with "Ralph Breaks the Internet (PG)." Movies will begin at dusk at about 8:30 p.m. at Dunham Park off Somerville Road. Along with seating, moviegoers are urged to bring a flashlight to find their way out after dark.
In case of rain, the movie will be scheduled for the next day.

Plays in the Park 2019 also begins this week
William Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors" is scheduled to be Trilogy Repertory's first play to be presented in the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park as part of the summer Plays in the Park series.
Performances are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. The audience is encouraged to bring flashlights and seating.
"The Comedy of Errors" is scheduled to be staged on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, July 11, 12, and 13, and on July 18, 19, and 20. Hank Barre is director and producer.
"Brigadoon," to be directed by Jaye Barre, with musical direction by Joe Lesky and choreography by Jill Cookingham, will be this summer's second production at the Pleasant Valley Park amphitheater.
The musical production of "Brigadoon" is due to be staged at Pleasant Valley Park at 8 p.m., on Aug. 1-3, and Aug. 8-10.
