Lufkin, who is still in her position, has been library director since 2012. She also held previous positions with the Bernards Township Library

Mayor Carol Bianchi confirmed that Lufkin will be leaving and added, "She will be missed."

The recruiter's duties would include many duties, such as collaborating with Zina Pozner, President Board of the Library Board of Trustees, and the Library Director Search Committee to review the profile for a candidate, including job description and salary, and plan recruitment strategy.

According to the resolution, Pro Libra also would post the position through local, regional and national channels, serve as the contact where all applications are to be sent; and later assist the library Director Search Committee in evaluating these candidates then identifying the top 4 to 6 candidates for serious consideration and possible interview.

The contract term is based on project duration of six months from the July 10, 2019 to January 10, 2020. Payment would be due upon the start of a new director.
