Hillsborough Businesses Invited to Provide Promotional Materials for OEM Drill

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The township's Office of Emergency Management will conduct a Point of Distribution drill at Mountain View Park Sept. 27, with donated promotional items from local businesses being substituted for the essential supplies that would be handed out in an actual emergency.

A Point of Distribution drill is a test of the Township's ability to distribute goods or medications to residents in the event of a natural or man-made disaster, according to Business Advocate David Kois.

Residents attending the township Committee meeting on Sept. 12 will be invited to participate in the drill, and will receive the packet of promotional materials to simulate the distribution of emergency supplies.

"We are inviting the Hillsborough business community to participate by supplying materials that can be put into the bags as a care package such as discounts, coupons, and other advertisements or giveaways to promote your business such as pens or candy," Kois said.

Business interested in participating are asked to contact Kois with a description and/or photo of items be submitted. Emails should be sent to dkois@hillsborough-nj.org.

Samples can also be dropped off at the township Administration office located in the Peter Biondi Municipal complex, 379 South Branch Road. The Township reserves the right to determine what submissions are appropriate. If approved a supply of 500 items will need to be donated by Sept. 22 at 4 p.m., according to Kois.

Further information is available by calling (908) 369-4313.
