BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The air is getting a little crisper, and red noses are appearing on the faces of street passers-by.  The holidays are almost here!  And a great way to ring in the holidays is to come out to the 6th Annual Winter Market and Christmas Tree Lighting in Basking Ridge on Saturday, December 7 from 12- 7 p.m.

With over 50 local vendors and artisans, the Winter Market is a great place to shop for holiday wares and to pick up gifts for family and friends!  Local arts organizations will be performing throughout the day, and there will be opportunities for children to make holiday crafts!  Christmas trees and wreaths will also be available for sale.  The Winter Market is held from 12-7 p.m. at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church.

Other downtown activities are also scheduled. Visit the Bernards Township Library for Holiday Crafts from 12-2 p.m.  And enjoy Holiday Card Coloring with Mr. Local History on the heated patio of the Washington House Restaurant from 3-5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony begins.  Members of the William Annin Middle School choir will sing carols, and the Christmas Tree will light up for the first time this holiday season!  And thank you to the Basking Ridge Fire Department for setting up the Christmas tree on the downtown green.

After the tree lighting, visit Santa from 5:45- 6:45 p.m. at the Ridge Family Dentistry building.

This event is a joint effort between the Basking Ridge Business Alliance (BRBA) and Bishop Janes United Methodist Church.  Coldwell Banker is a sponsor.

"We are excited to build on five years of success," said Ryan McCloskey, President of the Basking Ridge Business Alliance. "We love seeing the community come out, and the crowd always seems to grow bigger and bigger with each passing year.  We wish a happy holiday season to one and all in the Basking Ridge community, and we hope you can join us for our best event ever!"
