BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Somerset County Department of Health reported a total of 3,787 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, an increase of 29 overnight.
There were 225 cases in Bernards Township on Tuesday, with seven new cases reported overnight. There have been 381 deaths in Somerset County attributed to the coronavirus.
Statewide, there have been 149,013 cases, an increase of 974 overnight, with 10,586 deaths reported, according to the State Department of Health. Tuesday was the 14th consecutive day that the daily total of new COVID-19 cases in the state was less than 2,000.
The New Jersey Department of Health reported that 3,481 patients were hospitalized with confirmed or suspected coronavirus cases as of Monday night. That is 57 percent fewer patients in the hospital for COVID-19 than five weeks ago, when there 8,084 hospitalizations due to the coronavirus in New Jersey.
