BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Somerset County Department of Health reported that there were 3,936 cases of COVID-19 in the county as of Tuesday morning, an increase of 20 cases since Monday.
With two additional cases since Monday, Bernards Township has had a total of 241 cases since the start of the pandemic, which is showing measurable signs of being in retreat, both in Somerset County and across New Jersey.
There were 61 cases of COVID-19 in Bernardsville and 38 in Bedminster Tuesday, with neither community reporting any new cases overnight.
Statewide, there is a total of 155,764 cases, an increase of 672 overnight, according to the State Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in New Jersey as of late Sunday was 2,723, a 22 percent drop in state hospitalizations over the last week.
