BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Somerset County Department of Health on Thursday reported 3,977 cases of COVID-19 in the county, an increase of 17 overnight.

There were 245 cases in Bernards Township, an increase of three since Wednesday. There were 62 cases in Bernardsville, an increase of one, and 39 cases in Bedminster, the same number as Wednesday.

Statewide, there is a total of 157,815 cases, an increase of 1,187 overnight, with 11,401 deaths reported, according to the State Department of Health.

Somerset County residents who are exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus are encouraged to get tested. The test site is at Raritan Valley Community College, located at 118 Lamington Road. in Branchburg The site will be open again from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 and again on June 2 and June 4.

Testing, which is free of charge, is available to Hunterdon and Somerset County residents, age 5 and older. Because priority is being given to those who are exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus, residents must have a valid doctor’s prescription, ID and an appointment to receive testing.
