BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Bernards Township Board of Education approved two maternity-leave replacements in recent meetings.

Jan Ritter was hired Nov. 25 as a math teacher at William Annin Middle School from Nov. 26 to May 8, 2020.

On Nov. 11 the board appointed Rachel Kane as a maternity-leave teacher replacement for Grade 3 at Cedar Hill School from Dec. 2 to the end of the school year.

Other personnel moves were made, too.

On Nov. 25, the resignation of Meaghan Manolio, an instructional aide at William Annin Middle School, was accepted effective Dec. 31.

The board approved two child care leaves. One is for Jaclyn Coyne, a science teacher at Ridge High School, and is effective May 14, 2020, and returning Nov. 30. Another was for Dena Nahas, a special education teacher at Cedar Hill School, starting April 13, 2020, and returning Sept. 1.

It approved unpaid leaves. One is for Edward Doerr, an English language

arts teacher at William Annin Middle School, from Dec. 9 to Jan. 6. Another was for Liberty Corner School aide Debbie Savage from Nov. 26 to Jan. 2.

The board appointed Anne Pinto as an instructional aide at Mount Prospect School through June 18.

Anne Vag, Ben Carroll, Sandy Halbing and Kate Bondy were approved as district ski race team volunteers, and Robyn Evangelist and Jenna were okayed as assistant winter track volunteers, all at Ridge High.

It appointed Rebecca Klein as a three-hour-a-day aide at Mount Prospect School for the rest of the school year.
