BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- Personalized paving stones may form the walkway in front of the Ridge High School football field home bleachers.

On July 22, the Bernards Township Board of Education accepted an alternative location for a Ridge Sports Foundation fund-raising project.

On May 13, the board had OK'd a plan to sell engraved paver stones for a 1,000-square-foot area in front of the Ridge High School Wellness Center. The board was to pay for initial site work, as the project was also intended to help with drainage and replace some asphalt.

The walkway in front of the Lee Field home bleachers and running track “presents fewer engineering and operational concerns,” said a motion passed by the board.

The foundation helps the school by raising money for capital projects, like the fitness center, as well as awarding student scholarships.
