BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Bernards Township Democratic Committee has issued a call-out for potential candidates to represent the party in the election for one Township Committee seat that is due to be up for election in November. The term up for election this year would begin in 2020.
The Bernards Township Democratic Committee (BTDC) has announced that the screening of candidates will be held in March. The endorsed candidate would be placed on the ballot in the June primary election and, if that person receives the most votes to represent the party, would run as the Democratic Township Committee candidate this November.
Bernards Township Democrats interested in running for Township Committee should contact BTDC Chair Nancy D'Andrea at email@example.com. Local Democrats can also fill out an online application to show interest in running for the position this year.
"With the election of Democratic Committeewoman Joan Bannan Harris and the overall voter turnout in 2018, we are excited to see the heightened engagement of Bernards Township residents," D'Andrea said.
"As our town gears up for three new housing developments, it is important to have leaders who will make sure it is done right," D'Andrea said. "This is a great time for Democrats to step up."
