BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Dunkin' Donuts celebrated the grand opening of their new location in Dewy Meadow at 415 King George Road in Basking Ridge.

Bernards Township Mayor Carol Bianchi cut the ceremonial ribbon on Friday and congratulated Dipak and Dwar Patel and their family on the recent opening of their new location with a drive-through. "I am so excited about this and I wish you the best," said Bianchi. She said it will be good for the Dewy Meadow Plaza as well.

Also in attendance were several members of the Basking Ridge Business Alliance  (BRBA) and business community who came out to support its newest member. "The Dunkin’ ribbon cutting at Dewey Meadow was an incredibly fun event and we were so happy to be a part of it," said BRBA President Ryan McLoskey. "We look forward to the continuation of building strong relationships with Dunkin’ and other Dewey Meadow businesses so that the Basking Ridge Business Alliance can be a strategic partner in helping them be successful in the local community.”

Dwar Patel said they were doing fine in their former location just across the parking lot at 413 King George Road, however, he saw the vacant Millington Bank space with a drive-through as an opportunity and convenience for his customers.

He reached out to the landlord to propose the move and said, "Let's do something here." Knowing it would take zoning approval, he was happy with the support of the township and business community. "We have been through development in many towns -- we made our case that we are an existing tenant and this will just be better service for our community," said Patel.

This new 2,730 square foot space is smaller than the space they occupied at 413 King George Road, however, they expect 70 percent of customers to utilize the drive-through -- making a run to Dunkin faster and more convenient than ever before.

The new Dunkin’ restaurant offers the new "Next Generation" look and future experience. Guests can choose to order with or without the help of a crew member by choosing to use the fully-integrated digital kiosks. There is also an area dedicated to mobile pickups for members of the DD Perks® Rewards program who order ahead via Dunkin’s Mobile App.

Dunkins' signature cold beverages are now served through an innovative tap system serving eight consistently cold beverages such as coffees, iced teas, cold brew coffee and nitro infused cold brew coffee.

Over the past several years, the tenants of Dewy Meadow have been making plans to relocate within the shopping center in preparation for the demolition of the vacant building that housed the former A&P, as well as the future razing of the rear retail building [that houses MAX Challenge, Ridge Fine Wines and Postal Annex] and replacing with 198 market and affordable rental homes on the site. MAX Challenge plans to move to the former Dunkin space upon completion of their renovations and Postal Annex has moved to a larger space at 403 King George Road.
