BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- Members of the Ridge High School boys basketball program collected 9,030 pounds of clothing and 12 bicycles during its annual clothing on Jan. 18. This represented an increase of 60 percent over last year.
The drive raised $1,874 to help cover the basketball program's expenses.
"The snow and cold temps didn't stop the donations from coming in," said Noreen DeMarco, one of the Ridge Rebound Club fundraising parents. "Thank you to the parent volunteers, the players who volunteered before practice and all the players who stayed after practice to fill the entire truck in record time. Also a HUGE thank you to our official & “unofficial” drop off locations - THANKS Arni, Portas & Gannon families! Lastly the response from the community was so positive! People were thrilled they could donate their outgrown and extra items so easily."
