BERNARDSVILLE, NJ- For the past four years, Team Campbell Foundation has worked to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer during the month of September. This year, the awareness program, which includes placing signs on lawns, will reach nearly 100 cities in 25 states across the country. The program also includes an extensive social media campaign highlighting stories of those impacted by Childhood Cancer - the patients, their parents, siblings, friends and extended family. All month long, here and around the world, streets, sports teams, and buildings will be awash in gold, the universally recognized color for Childhood Cancer, in memory of children who have lost their lives to cancer and to honor all children fighting cancer
This year, the Team Campbell Foundation distributed over 2,000 lawn signs with the help of fifty Team Captains who spearheaded distribution in their towns. The program has grown exponentially: last year, Team Campbell distributed 250 signs to 27 cities and worked with just fourteen Team Captains.
“We are so thankful to all of our supporters, especially our Team Captains. With their help, we are able to broaden our reach, raising even more awareness. I strongly believe that increased awareness leads to increased funding for research which will eventually lead to a cure for these kids. Together we can make this happen,” noted Robin Hoyt, Co-Founder of Team Campbell Foundation.
The Team Campbell Foundation was formed in late 2014 in Bernardsville in memory of Campbell Hoyt, who courageously battled Anaplastic Ependymoma, a rare cancer of the brain and spine, for 5 years before passing away in August of 2014 at the age of eight. The mission of the foundation is to improve the lives of families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis by raising awareness, funding research and providing psycho-social enrichment opportunities.
