FAR HILLS, NJ _ The spring Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills giant rummage sale is scheduled to open to the public this Friday through Sunday, May 3 to 5, presenting 25 tented "departments" of thousands bargains of all kinds at the Far Hills fairgrounds.
Sale hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Twice a year, each spring and fall, bargain hunters from throughout New Jersey and beyond visit the long-running and well-known rummage sale, staffed by hundreds of area volunteers who sort donated items and place them out for display.
Admission and parking are free.
The sale depends on donations from everything from clothing for all ages and all occasions, books, pretested electronics, many toys, sports equipment, furniture, home decor and more - including especially valuable and unique items that go into the "Bon ton" tent. Seasonal decorations, antiques, rare books, and original art are some of the special items that always show up at each rummage sale.
Shoppers can pay for their finds with cash, checks (proper identification reqyured) or credit cards (Mastercard and Visa).

The rummage sales held every spring and fall by the Basking Ridge-based VNA help uninsured and underinsured patients of the home-nursing organization, which assists residents of Morris and Somerset with health care needs provided by visiting nurses.The sale is held at the Far Hills fairgrounds at the corner of Routes 512 and 202 in Far Hills.
Food will be available too, courtesy of local firefighters and first aid squad volunteers.
