BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ With the end of the holiday season in sight, New Year's Eve and a midweek New Year's Day offer one more chance for relaxing, socializing _ and time off from work and school.

Bernards Township students continue a winter vacation that began last week, before returning to their classrooms on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Bernards Township offices also will be closed on New Year's Day, The following day, the annual Bernards Township reorganization meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday at town hall at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge.

The meeting agenda is posted online. The meeting is scheduled to begin with a new Township Committee member, Janice Fields, to be followed by a report from outgoing Mayor Carol Bianchi and the selection of a new township mayor for a year-long term in 2020.

Library due to close early on New Year's Eve

The Bernards Township Library is scheduled to close early, at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, New Year's Eve. The library is scheduled to remain closed on New Year's Day.
