BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The creation of a Veterans Appreciation Task Force is included on the posted agenda for the Tuesday, Jan. 28 meeting of the Bernards Township Committee.

"The Township Committee of the Township of Bernards recognizes the importance of honoring America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good," the proposed resolution states.

In further recognition of veterans, the Township Committeet proposes o appoint a Veteran Appreciation Task Force consisting of up to five members for one-year terms to last through 2020, according to the proposed resolution.

The membership of the task force, as proposed, would include up to two Bernards Township residents, Bernards Township Administrator Pat Monaco, Bernards Township Mayor James Baldassare Jr. or a designee, and the Bernards Township Department of Public Works superintendent or a designee.

The task force is being asked to look into banners for the veterans that officials hope to put up in the township.

Other items on the agenda include accepting conservation easements, awards or changes to contracts, and more.

The public portion of Tuesday's Township Committee meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in the main meeting room at the town hall, 1 Collyer Lane, Basking Ridge.
