BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Bernards Township Health Department in conjunction with The Smith Institute of New Jersey  will conduct a COVID-19 testing clinic for all Bernards Township employees on Thursday, June 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. The clinic will be held in the community center at 289 S. Maple Ave.

This viral test will take a nasal sample. The purpose is to determine if the employee currently has an infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Lab results will be communicated to the employee directly who will be encouraged to follow-up with their primary physician.

The Bernards Township Health Department is encouraging all residents to take precautions and practice social distancing to protect themselves and others from respiratory illness:

Avoid crowds and large gatherings. If you have to be around people, maintain at least a 6-foot distance from them.
Stay home if you are sick. Limit close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Wear a face covering when in public.
