BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Bernards Township Parks and Recreation Department has posted a chart updating the status of the township parks that have or will open _ with some openings this week _ and which facilities remain closed at this time.

Athletic fields at all township parks were due to open on Monday, June 22, with permits required, according to the chart posted on the Bernards Township website.

Some of the restrooms were also open at Monday at Dunham Park, Mountain Park and Pleasant Valley Park, with portable toilets available at Rebel Hill and the War Memorial Athletic Complex, the chart said.

Dog park due to open on Tuesday

The township dog park at the War Memorial Athletic Complex at 325 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge is due to open on Tuesday, June 23.

Several other facilities are tentatively due to open on July 6, including the basketball courts at Pleasant Valley Park and Southard Park; the sand volleyball courts at Dunham Park, Pleasant Valley Park, and Southard Park; and the roller rink at Dunham Park.

Although not listed on the chart, the Pleasant Valley Pool is due to open on July 3.

Some facilities remain closed, including indoor rooms, the community center, picnic shelters, and playgrounds.

Other facilities already have been open _ including walking trails and bike paths at all parks, tennis and paddle tennis courts, bocce courts, disc golf, and fishing ponds.
