BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ The Bernards Township Committee's agenda for this Tuesday, Sept. 10, includes recognition of the 2019 Reusable Bag Design Challenge winner, Anjali Dahiya.

The Bernards Township Environmental Commission had sponsored a 2019 Reusable Bag Design Challenge for township schoolchildren with the winning design to be used to decorate re-usable bags to help combat the problem of the buildup of non-biodegradable single use plastic bags.

The resuable bags will be distributed to the residents of Bernards Township, free of charge, while supplies last, according to Tuesday's agenda.

Bernards Township schoolchildren submitted designs with one student’s design selected as the winning design.

The Township Committee of the Township of Bernards is set to approve a resolution to "congratulate Anjali Dahiya, whose design will be used on the reusable bags, and congratulate all the participants on their accomplishment."

The agenda also includes appointments and equipment purchases for the municipality.
