HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Antiques, household wares, collectibles, artwork, books, and an eclectic variety of imported chairs were scattered about the field at the Hillsboro Farm Market alongside the Van Nuys old farmhouse Saturday afternoon.

Vendors bought their 10x10 space for $10, with proceeds donated to Farmers Against Hunger, a nonprofit organized through the NJ Agricultural Society. Vendors included Young Living, Love Your Pet, and local author Zana Etter.

Young Living is a local at-home business that promotes the health benefits of essential oils in household goods and as air diffusions; they also offer 101 classes on how to benefit from their products at Damiani’s restaurant on a monthly basis.

Love Your Pet Pet Sitting Service was also featured in the market with its founder, Lorraine Zdeb. Her company grown to service 2,500 clients in Somerset County.

Love Your Pet is now on a mission to make a difference for the dogs and cats rescued from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma: Zdeb is taking in 5 pups from Husky House to make room in the shelters in Texas and Florida. In addition to her bustling pet sitting business, Lorraine also produces and sells Love Bites organic dog treats.

Etter, who penned both Dances with Destiny and Dark Orchids offered a warm sentiment for the farm venue: “With cooperative weather, this is a great local event to share treasures.”

A longtime Hillsborough resident, Etter looks forward to publishing her third book soon.

Polnasek Poultry farm, the Somerset County Library System, and first-time salespeople topped off the eclectic mix on this sunny shopper’s weekend.
