BASKING RIDGE, NJ _ The Liberty Corner Fire Co. and First Aid Squad reported on Monday night that LouAnn Jones, who had been a volunteer with the Liberty Corner First Aid Squad for 40 years, has passed away following a battle with cancer.

"LouAnn spent 40 years volunteering her time to helping the residents of Bernards Township. LouAnn was also a member of the Liberty Corner Fire Company Auxillary and will be greatly missed," said the Liberty Corner Fire Co. Facebook page.

On Tuesday night, Bernards Township Committee members also paid tribute to Jones, and noted there will be a memorial service in her honor on Wednesday evening at the Liberty Corner Firehouse on Church Street in Liberty Corner village.

The gathering at the firehouse will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in her honor, according to the Liberty Corner First Aid Squad webpage.

"Rest easy LouAnn, we'll take it from here," said the Liberty Corner Fire Company Facebook.
