Handguns, Mercedes, Jewelry and Cash Stolen From Watchung Home, Police Seek Public’s Help

WATCHUNG, NJ -  Handguns, a Mercedes Benz, cash and jewelry were reported stolen last week, and the Watchung Police are asking the public to come forward with any information.

Watchung Police Department detectives, with the assistance of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Burglary Task Force, are investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Wednesday Jan. 24,  in the 1200 block of Johnston Drive at approximately 10 a.m.

The house was ransacked after forced entry was gained through a rear window, the suspects removed clothing, jewelry, cash, three handguns, and a 2006 Mercedes Benz from the residence, police said. The vehicle was located in Irvington later that same day abandoned and on fire.

Video footage and photos of the suspect were captured from the victim’s home security system and police are asking anyone with information to call the Watchung Police Department at (908) 756-3663.
