BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Somerset County Department of Health reported a total of 3,646 coronavirus cases on Wednesday, an increase of 17 overnight.

There are 218 cases in Bernards Township, the same number as Tuesday.

Statewide, there is a total of 141,560 cases, an increase of 817 overnight, with 9,702 deaths reported, according to the State Department of Health. Wednesday was the second consecutive day that the daily total of new COVID-19 cases in the state has been under 1,000.

The three-day rolling average of new COVID-19 cases in New Jersey is 1,009, which is the lowest three-day rolling rate in nearly two months. Just one week ago, that three-day average was 1,787. It has come down by close to 44 percent in one week.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that nonessential businesses may reopen for curbside pickup and nonessential construction may resume beginning next Monday morning.
