SOMERVILLE, NJ - The borough's Office of Emergency Management has issued an advisory about a planned protest at the Historic Somerset County Courthouse Friday afternoon beginning at 2:30 p.m.:

"There is a protest scheduled this afternoon on the lawn of the Old Somerset County Court House beginning at 2:30 p.m. It is estimated to be between 750-2,000 people will attend the event.

"The event will break up and groups will walk down South Bridge Street towards Route 206 and another group will walk north on Bridge Street towards Route 22.

"Upon arrival at each location, the protesters will kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Shortly thereafter they are expected to return to the courthouse where they will continue their protest.

"Please anticipate road closures in the downtown area, South Bridge Street and North Bridge Streets from 2:30 p,m .to 5 p.m. today."
