BERNARDS TWP., NJ - It's time again to register for County Caper games coming up on Aug. 24 and 25 that give county residents a chance to play a live-action game, and also to explore, learn, and protect Somerset County's parks and other natural areas. 

The County Caper events will again be led by the naturalists at the Somerset County-owned Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.

Compete to become County Caper Champion

The Adult County Caper, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning at 8:30 a.m., is a one-day game that takes adults (age 15 years and older) on an interactive tour of Somerset County Parks and facilities.  

Participants will be physically and mentally challenged while they complete fun tasks and find hidden clues throughout the day as their team competes to become a County Caper Champion.

The Family County Caper will be held on Sunday, August 25, beginning at 8 a.m.

The Family County Caper is a one-day game that takes families and friends on an interactive tour of Somerset County Parks and facilities.

This local version of “The Amazing Race” leads teams to various destinations within Somerset County. Once the teams arrive at each destination, they will perform tasks, find clues or gather information.

Each team will be given a journal to collect stamps and/or record their findings.  Participants are invited to bring their camera.

The fee is $20 per team for either event and is non-refundable. Registration is required by Friday, August 23, for the adult event and Thursday, August 22, for the family version of the County Caper.
