Baseball: Ridge Beats Bernards, 6-2

BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Brandon Hylton hit a home run and Joe Covello excelled in relief to lead Ridge to a 6-2 baseball victory over Bernards on Friday.

Ridge (14-5) scored four runs in the third inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit. Winning pitcher Jack Love (3-1) allowed two runs and four hits in four innings. Covello pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks and striking out two, for the save.

Hylton, who also had a double, and Devin Stieglitz each went 2-for-3. Chris Seebode smacked an RBI double for the Red Devils.

Matt Oliver and Robbie Holmes hit RBI singles in the top of the third inning for Bernards (4-14).

On Thursday, Ridge defeated Phillipsburg, 6-0, behind a James Crowley shutout.
