TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Sophomores Gavin Kreitz and Jayden Hylton led the Ridge to a 74-43 boys basketball victory over Toms River South on Sunday afternoon.
Kreitz, a guard, scored 27 points and Hylton, who plays the post, had 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Ridge (7-6).
Kreitz’ five 3-pointers in the first half, along with Hylton’s 12 points and seven rebounds over the same period, led the Red Devils to a 44-29 halftime advantage. Ridge then scored the first 15 points of the third quarter to finish Toms River South off.
Jake Schapiro finished with eight points and four rebounds, Nolan Murphy had six points and eight rebounds, and Chris Lombardi handed out five assists to go with two steals in the victory. Next up for Ridge is a rematch with undefeated Rutgers Prep (16-0) Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Ridge. Rutgers Prep defeated the Red Devils, 69-55, in Somerset on Jan. 7.
