BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- In front of a packed house on a Monday matinee, the Ridge boys basketball team defeated Sayreville, 44-42.  

Ridge jumped out to a seven-point lead early in the first quarter, 11-4, but Sayreville fought back and closed the quarter on a 7-3 run to cut the Ridge lead to 14-11 after a quarter.  

Jake Schapiro scored six points of his 15 points and Nate Herrera added five of his 12 points in the fourth period.  Jayden Hylton finished with six points, seven rebounds and three assists and Easton Smith had six points, four rebounds and two assists for the Red Devils.

In Friday's opening night 57-54 loss on the road to Immaculata, Ridge got 19 points from Herrera finished with 19 points.  Hylton had 15 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, and Schapiro had 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.
