SOMERSET, NJ - The Ridge football team remained undefeated with a 31-7 victory over Franklin on the road Friday night.

Senior quarterback Wes Hudkins passed for two touchdowns and ran for another for Ridge (5-0), which led, 21-7, at halftime. Christian Sweeney's 2-yard TD run got the Red Devils on the board and Jake Beckman's extra point gave them a 7-0 lead late in the opening quarter.

After Franklin tied the game, 7-7, Ridge went ahead with 6:16 left in the half on a 69-yard TD pass from Hudkins to Brendan Bell. A 1-yard TD sneak by Hudkins extended the Ridge lead to 21-7 before halftime.

Hudkins found Cameron Lloyd for a long TD pass with 7:50 left in the third quarter, and Beckman, who converted four of four extra points in the game, added a 20-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Ridge will be on the road against Watchung Hills next Friday night. The Red Devils' next home game is Oct. 19 against Phillipsburg.
