BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge girls soccer team battled undefeated Hunterdon Central to a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon.
Hunterdon Central (3-0-1) took a 1-0 lead into halftime in the battle between the traditional Skyland Conference rivals, but Ridge came back to deadlock the contest in the second half.
Sophomore forward Payton Uhrig came through with her first career varsity goal, getting an assist from Caroline McEnroe. Uhrig missed all of her freshman season recovering from a knee injury. The two teams then battled through two scoreless overtime sessions.
Olivia Pikiell turned in a stellar performance in goal for Ridge, stopping 16 Hunterdon Central shots.
