NEWARK, NJ -- The Ridge ice hockey team lost its championship rematch with Randolph late Monday night when the Rams scored a goal 4:30 into overtime for a 3-2 victory over Ridge in the NJSIAA Public B championship game at the Prudential Center.
JT Zangara scored all three goals for Randolph, which avenged Ridge's victory in last year's Public B championship game at "The Rock."
Ridge scored two goals in the final three minutes of regulation to overcome a 2-0 deficit and force overtime. First, Reese Judson scored with 2:37 left to cut Randolph's lead to 2-1. He was assisted by Ty Ebeling and Eric Schubert.
Just 32 seconds later, the Red Devils tied it, 2-2, when Matt Balzarotti scored a goal.
Randolph scored to take a 1-0 lead in the second period, extending that to 2-0 on Zangara's second goal with 9:02 left in the third period.
