BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The Labor Day races in downtown Basking Ridge started out with some of the best cyclists from anywhere taking part in the 27th annual Olde Mill Inn Tour of Basking Ridge, and leading to the township kids' races _ starting with kids with training wheels.

In between, runners participated in a one-mile course, the TrueLeaf Kitchens Labor Day Mile For Curbing Hunger. Winners and sponsors are posted on the Curbing Hunger website.

Liberty Cycle of Basking Ridge again brought together the Olde Mill Inn tour, attracting adult cyclists in six races, including a pro race. Results are online.

Although ribbons are handed out to the top finishers for different age groups, everyone is a winner (and treated with a lollipop) in the annual kids' bicycle races organized by the Bernards Township Parks & Recreation Department.

The races under a bright and sunny sky took place on one of the last days of summer for township students, who return to classrooms this Thursday.
