GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Ridge Runners boys relay team took first place in the 4x800 race at the New Balance Nationals outdoor meet last weekend at North Carolina A&T University.
The foursome of of Alex Sargen, Luke Roberts, Will Pinto and Ryan Lindrud ran the race in 7:38.48 for the boys team's first national championship. They bested the old school record by six seconds. The second-place team in the national event ran a time of 7:40.47.
The team of Jackson Barna, Will Pinto, James Glockenmeier and Sam Lewis ran the 4 x 1 mile in Greensboro and set a school record in that event with a 14th-place time of 18:03.51.
The Ridge girls relay team of Manon Stephen, Olivia Cicchetti, Grace LaCapra and Morgan Lyons placed fifth in the 4x800 race at the New Balance Nationals with a time of 9:03.39, which represented the team's best time of the year in that event.
