HOLMDEL, NJ -- The Ridge High School boys cross-country team came in second among all Group 4 teams on Saturday at the NJSIAA Group Championships at Holmdel Park.

Jackson Barna led the way for the Red Devils in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:02, which was fourth among the 151 Group 4 runners in the race.

Ridge's showing qualified the team for the Meet of Champions next Saturday in Holmdel. Ridge had 123 team points, trailing only Cherokee (95 points) in the team standings.

In addition to Barna's big performance, Ridge runners ran as follows: Will Pinto (16:47), Sam Lewis (16:55), Jake Dobrowolski (16:58), James Kisker (17:01), Jake Vicente (17:38) and Chris Strain (17:57).
