BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge girls and boys swim teams won their meets over North Hunterdon High School on Tuesday.  The girls score was 107-63 and the boys score was 127-43.  The girls improved their record to 4-2, while the boys improved to 4-1.

Senior Chris Fabian won the 100 Fly and 100 Backstroke, setting Ridge team records for both events. Fabian swam the 100 Fly in 50.46 seconds (previous record: 51.88 from 2014) and the 100 Backstroke in 51.43 seconds (previous record was 52.01 from 2018).

The girls team had many strong performances. Junior Sophia Paul placed first in the 100 Fly and second in the 100 backstroke. Junior Maggie Hannis took first in the 100 Breaststroke and second in the 200 IM. Sophomore Tracy Lu placed first in the 50 Free and second in the 100 Fly, and freshman Emily Wang won the 200 Free and placed a close second in the 500 free.  The girls also won all the relays: 200 Medley Relay (Wang, Hannis, T. Lu, Chelsea Lu); 200 Free Relay (Lucy Hess, Ayla D’Silva, Jaqueline Wilson, Zsuzsa Kiss) and 400 Free Relay (Wang, C. Lu, Hannis, T. Lu).

There were additional strong performances by the boys as well. Senior Ethan Chiu finished first in the 200 Free and first in the 500 Free, and Junior AJ Capizzi won the 50 Free and the 100 Free events.  From there the boys finished in the top three places in the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke.  In the 200 IM sophomore Daniel Xia finished first, sophomore Andy Moss placed second and sophomore Jerry Zheng got third. In the 100 Breaststroke sophomore NIshant Damaraju was first, sophomore Seif Elnawawi placed second and Alex Fabiano finished third.  Additionally, the boys won all the relays: 200 Medley Relay (Fabian, Elnawawi, Xia, Matt Maung); 200 Free Relay (Capizzi, Marshall Wang, Moss, Chiu); and 400 Free Relay (Capizzi, Chiu, Moss, Fabian).
