VERNON, NJ --  The Ridge girls and boys ski teams raced at the JV Championships at Mountain Creek last week.  

Ridge competes in the New Jersey Interscholastic Ski Racing Association league and raced one GS run and one slalom run at the championship race. There were seven girls teams and 11 boys teams competing, with both public and private schools being represented across the state.

The Ridge JV teams have had a great season consistently placing in the top two all season with many first-place finishes.

The JV girls had four in the top 10, led by newcomer MJ Pinto who placed first individually with a combined time of 1:36.20. Kylee Horner placed fourth, Makayla Perrotti, eighth, Yui Kostsuma, 10th and Petra Deffenbaugh 13th.  Pinto shared “The team is a fun; hard working group and I’ve learned so much from our coaches.”

The JV boys had four in the top 16 with Sean Caricich placing third with a combined time of 1:26.55, Brian Green, 10th, David Hilferty, 13th, Ethan Lipset, 15th, and Griffin Wiehe, 17th
