BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Ridge girls soccer team will be one of 14 teams represented at the inaugural "The Mountains vs. The Seas" girls' soccer challenge Sunday, Sept. 23 on the campus of The Pingry School.
Fourteen teams from the top two conferences in the state, the Skyland and Shore conferences, will compete in seven games throughout the day. The event—for which the 14 participating teams were asked to raise at least $2,000 each—will raise funds for Go4TheGoal, a New Jersey non-profit whose mission is to improve the lives of children with cancer.
More than $33,000 already has been raised for Go4theGoal.
Ridge will play Toms River North at 2 p.m. Ridge has faced Shore Conference power Freehold Township in two of the last three Group 4 state championship games, both of which ended in 0-0 ties.
The entire Sunday schedule is as follows:
Game 1: 10 a.m. on Babbitt field—Shore Regional vs Mount St. Mary's
Game 2: 10 a.m. on Parsons field—St. John Vianney vs Somerville
Game 3: 12 noon on Babbitt field—Middletown South vs Watchung Hills
Game 4: 12 noon on Parsons field—Freehold Township vs Hunterdon Central
Game 5: 12 noon on the Bugliari World Cup Field—Red Bank Catholic vs Pingry
Game 6: 2 p.m. on Babbitt field—Toms River North vs Ridge
Game 7: 2 p.m. on Parsons field—Jackson Memorial vs Bridgewater-Raritan
