BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Coach Joanne Milot returns four starters from Ridge High School's 2017 state championship girls volleyball squad for the 2018 season.

Milot will lean heavily on four returning senior starters from last year’s team: tri-captains Peyton Robb, Chelsea Winegar (both outside hitters) and Rachel Tam (libero), as well as versatile opposite hitter Isabela Garcia, to anchor Ridge in another tough Skyland Conference season.

Ridge will also look for significant contributions from seniors Erin Caricich, Audrey Raphaels and Vanessa Thomas, juniors Dana Collins, Jasmine Davy, Angela Huang, Angela Pan and Ingie Rabie, as well as sophomores Kristen Hodges and Lauren Metzner.

It won’t be easy to repeat Ridge's undefeated Group 4 2017 season, as Milot will have to integrate a new setter to run the offense and two new middle hitters to shore up the blocking. Milot will rely on defense and strong serve receive to offset a shorter but quicker squad.

In addition to the tough Skyland Conference where Ridge will face North Hunterdon, Hunterdon Central, Bridgewater-Raritan, Hillsborough and Watchung Hills, the Red Devils will be tested on the road against perennial powerhouses Hudson Catholic, Randolph and Mount Olive.

They will also play three tournaments in three consecutive weeks in September, starting with Northern Valley Demarest on 9/15, Bloomfield Invitational on 9/22 and Livingston Invitational on 9/29.  Ridge's first test will begin on Tuesday at Hillsborough.  The first home contest will be Thursday against Bridgewater-Raritan.
