WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Lady Warrior basketball team defeated the Ridge Red Devils on Saturday, 50-40, to make them Skyland Conference champions, along with Montgomery, Hills’ lone loss this season.

Co-captain Julia Cunningham led the Warriors with fifteen points, along with grabbing nine rebounds, dishing out three assists, and collecting four steals. Sophomore guard Alexa Santo also scored in double figures, scoring thirteen points, including two three point field goals. Co-captain Alyssa Killeen picked up seven points, along with grabbing six rebounds. Jayden Baltuch sank two three-pointers, scoring six points. McKenna Frey contributed five points, along with one assist and one steal and  Mahogany Jenkins chipped in four points, three rebounds, and one steal.

After the game, head coach Reece Kirchofer praised his team, and congratulated them for becoming repeat champions. He also mentioned that winning the championship had only been done six times in program history, so winning back-to-back championships is very impressive. As for his seniors, Coach K said, “they’ve won the championship three out of the last four years, so they should be really proud of what they’ve done”
