Bayonne Bridge Closed This Weekend, but Open July 4th Weekend

BAYONNE, NJ – The Bayonne Bridge will close from 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 24 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 27, to accommodate construction on the “Raise the Roadway” project. 

However, the bridge is scheduled to remain open throughout the Independence Day weekend, from 5 a.m. Friday, July 1 through 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 5.

During the week, the span is usually closed Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Mondays through Fridays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On certain weekdays, the Bayonne Bridge opens a half hour earlier at 4:30 a.m. to provide an alternate passage for drivers affected by 4:30 to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the nearby Goethals Bridge.
