Bayonne Bridge Open for Holiday Weekend

BAYONNE, NJ – In observance of Memorial Day weekend, the Bayonne Bridge will remain open from 5 a.m. Friday, May 27 through 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 31.

On Tuesday, the bridge will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project.

The bridge will resume its normal weekday closure schedule. During the week, the bridge is closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and overnight Mondays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On certain weekdays, Bayonne Bridge opens a half-hour earlier – at 4:30 a.m. – to provide an alternate route for drivers affected by 4:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge.

Next weekend, the Bayonne Bridge is scheduled to close Friday, June 3 at 11:59 p.m. and re-open on Monday, June 6 at 5 a.m.

Bayonne Warming Center Extended Through Saturday, December 16, at 8:30 a.m.

Due to the cold, wintry weather, the City of Bayonne has extended the hours of the warming center at the Fire House Recreation Center at 597 Broadway (near 27th Street).  The warming center opened on Wednesday, December 13.  It will remain open through Saturday morning, December 16, at 8:30 a.m.
