Bayonne Bridge Open for Holiday Weekend

BAYONNE, NJ – In observance of Memorial Day weekend, the Bayonne Bridge will remain open from 5 a.m. Friday, May 27 through 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 31.

On Tuesday, the bridge will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project.

The bridge will resume its normal weekday closure schedule. During the week, the bridge is closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and overnight Mondays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On certain weekdays, Bayonne Bridge opens a half-hour earlier – at 4:30 a.m. – to provide an alternate route for drivers affected by 4:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge.

Next weekend, the Bayonne Bridge is scheduled to close Friday, June 3 at 11:59 p.m. and re-open on Monday, June 6 at 5 a.m.
